About

May you live in interesting times!  This is often referred to as the Chinese curse.  This phrase is often reputed to be the English translation of an ancient Chinese proverb and curse.  Literary gossips whisper that it may have originated among the English or Americans.

Many sources report that it is the first of three curses of increasing severity.  Curses two and three being:

::May you come to the attention of those in authority.

::May you find what you are looking for.

Think this is getting a little too macabre for you?  Well hold on!

When it comes to Survival and Preparedness, SurvivalBlogs.com takes this potentially negative subject and tries to turn it on its head.  Family preparedness and survival knowledge (life skills) is something every head of household should be familiar with. I’m certainly not looking for any “end-of-the-world” events, but I am looking to being prepared for hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, extreme weather, social unrest, food disruptions, fuel disruptions, currency devaluations, unemployment, family emergencies, pandemics, and a host of other unpleasant worldly occurrences.

In our daily lives, let us prepare for the worst and hope for the best.  It’s a healthy and responsible way to live.
